PLEASE NOTE:
All ratings for MOONEE VALLEY are for GOOD-4 track. Rail is TRUE. We have not raced here since March 27th when rail was 3m and there was no mad pattern/bias. Expecting a level playing field but with no traffic on that inside section for a long while I doubt the inside rail will chop out (like it can with True rail here). Watch and monitor!
In Sydney we are at ROSEHILL. Ratings are for GOOD-4/ SOFT-5 range. Rail is 3m (was True last meeting here) and expecting even racing with run-ons having their chance if tempo is there.
BET OF THE DAY (Melb)
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 6 No.6 – METAPHORICAL – Had little luck/room fresh then held-up key stage in Adelaide last time and just missed The Bowler who carried some amazing form lines into that race (Kenjorwood/ Longeron/ Silverball). Won very well here last prep at 2040m.
BET OF THE DAY (Syd)
ROSEHILL – Race 6 No.6 – KAEPERNICK – Nice trial then terrific return given he didn’t look all that happy on the Soft-7 track. He beat a good field. He won (maiden) 2nd-up last prep. Smart.
BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 3 No.6 – DUANEO – Off back-to-back dominant wins his last two, in latest he easily beat Alcobro who was coming off a 3rd in Listed race to Japhills, that filly ran OK to The Bowler and Co. last week. Should relish 1500m. Can measure up! Come up $15 in places.
BEST EACH-WAY BET OF THE DAY
MOONEE VALLEY – Race 7 No.12 – JESSY BELLE – Hit line hard (best late splits of the day) fresh in on-pace (good form) race then came wide and again was the best closer in a race dominated by those inside/on-speed. Reckon she is flying and 1500m, on a track she loves, 3rd-up looks ideal… Looks the overs at $8 being shopped
BEST ROUGHIE OF THE DAY
ROSEHILL – Race 3 No.4 – LUCY’S LOOK – Faded badly on very wet last time. Missed kick fresh prior. 3rd-up last prep she was unlucky not to beat Sebrina (so stiff last week) with Joadja (ran well behind Algeria recently) 3rd. Onto drier ground here! Improver at odds? Worth a play at $18 surely!?!?
Lay Of The Day:
ROSEHILL – Race 1 No.1 – PRESS STATEMENT – Won quite well on debut but the form isn’t exactly outstanding and they want us to take, what, $2.3… Unders!!!
TOP-RATED RUNNERS:
MOONEE VALLEY
Race 1 – 2YO – 1200m
- 8 – BATTLE OF TROY – Jumped out super before the debut when wide early and very new to it all, he ran well, like blinkers going on here and winner of that Caulfield race had trialled brilliantly prior.
- 4 – KINGLIKE – His debut was every bit as good as Battle Of Troy’s at Caulfield, he came wide a way out and was also very raw/new, he ran in but ran home hard! Expecting that form to be strong.
- 1 – ALKAASHEF – Backed off the nap on debut and sat wide/won anyway, he didn’t run great overall time (Prestwick – who is here – was .36 quicker) but in this race they were some 6-7L slower their 1st-600m so they had no hope of running slick overall time!
- 2 – EL GRECO – Strong debut win despite drifting $10-to-$14 and runner-up beat 3rd easily, they ran 6L+ quicker than older horses later that day!
- 9 – IRON BOSS – 1st-start. Went nicely in recent jump outs. Dam was a mutilple G1 winner. Big watch.
Race 2 – 3YOF Hcp – 1600m
- 5 – LOVEHEART LASS – Was 1400-to-2000m at Caulfield latest, went way back from a bad gate and made nice ground. She was good in a strong race Vs males prior at that 1400m. Back to mile here but speed on paper suits and there are holes in the form of a few here.
- 7 – FITNA – Led until late 1st-up Ballarat against older/males on heavy. Jumps quickly to 1600m but respect stable and she does have Magicool form on her CV. To own age/sex here. Measures up?
- 6 – SEBRING WARRIOR – Warmed up late at Caulfield off a modest 49.7 1st-800m and she is desperate for 1600m. Oak Park Goblet beat her 3-back (both fresh) but this girl flew home against the bias that day and meets her 2.5kg better today.
- 2 – OAK PARK GOBLET – Good return win then drew 1 and raced on slower inside lanes Flemington, forget that. Jumps quickly to 1600m but that shapes as ok. Maps well.
- 3 – TEARS OF JOY – Thought she was excellent two-back when on-speed/inside in swoopers race, on swoopers track. Forget last start happened! Best blowout hope?
Race 3 – 3YO – 1500m
- 6 – DUANEO – Off back-to-back dominant wins his last two, in latest he easily beat Alcobro who was coming off a 3rd in Listed race to Japhills, that filly ran OK to The Bowler and Co. last week. Should relish 1500m. Can measure up!
- 1 – MANHATTAN AVENUE – Good return in high-rating 3yo race won by Durendal who had run well in Stks race in Adelaide prior with limited luck, the first four from this guys race fresh thrashed the others. He won hot maiden 2nd-up last prep then chased Kermadec/ Stratum Star. Great form.
- 9 – RECALCULATE – Just no match for It’s About You (Turfane 3rd – is here) but that horse had run well to Durendal prior so that ties him in nicely. Proven 1500m now. Nicely drawn. Value?
- 7 – VOLCANIC ASH – Trialled very well before good return win beating another promising one in St Cajetan. That was his first run as a gelding. Doubt 1500m an issue. In this.
- 3 – SECRET BLEND – Good back to slower inside lanes Flemington latest behind two handy males, needs to run 1500m now which is some query but in the mix for sure.
Race 4 – BM70 – 1500m
- 9 – CARASHAN GIRL – Led against the pattern Sale (Metro meeting) last time and ran very well, she was backed, winner Whistle Baby then won well Flemington last week, 2nd-horse Noela’s Choice meets this girl 1.5kg worse.
- 10 – NOELA’S CHOICE – Found line well in that Whistle Baby race and that form is well stamped now. Sits off the good speed and note, her one go 1500m she won a City BM70 race.
- 4 – SMASHING DOUBT – Outsprinted fresh but she did find the wire (was backed heavy) then forget wet track miss last time. Big improver here drier/1500m, 3rd-up? Overs??
- 11 – OH SO ASSERTIVE – Won one of these (well) Bendigo at 1400m then surprised they went back to 1000m last time. Now back out to 1500m claiming down. Can win.
- 3 – LANNISTER – Ridden too close fresh then sound with mixed luck Caulfield last time. To BM70 3rd-up and 1500m suitable. Chance.
Race 5 – BM70 – 1000m
- 14 – PILLY’S WISH – Resumes. Really found the line in good race fresh last prep. Her previous fresh run she beat Srikandi here, at this trip, in this grade. Can certainly win!
- 7 – PINK PERFECTION – Resumes. Never missed the trifecta fresh. Beat all-bar Lateva fresh last prep in this class then won Flemington beating older mares.
- 4 – HUNTING HILL – Resumes. Wide on-speed and top win in BM64 fresh last prep. He was luckless here when 2.2L 5th before the spell, that was his only top-3 miss!
- 5 – MAGNARO – Sound return and was close-up 4th off wide run 2nd-up last prep, that was his only top-2 miss 2nd-up.
Race 6 – Hcp – 1600m
- 4 – METAPHORICAL – Had little luck/room fresh then held-up key stage in Adelaide last time and just missed The Bowler who carried some amazing form lines into that race (Kenjorwood/ Longeron/ Silverball). Won very well here last prep at 2040m.
- 5 – TEXT’N HURLEY – Forget she ran fresh (heart irregularity) then held-up touch and went through the line nicely behind The Bowler/ Metaphorical. Loves The Valley. Has 2.5kg on Metaphorical and can certainly win, if she is not looking for further now?
- 2 – TRISTRAM’S SUN – Good in Wangoom (beat Mr Utopia – won well last week) then jumped 12-to-1600m Caulfield and was close-up to Red Bomber which is easy to tie in with Metaphorical from last prep.
- 3 – LORD DURANTE – May lead here and this track tends to suit those much better than Flemington, in fact, 2 of his 3 runs this prep he was been good on-pace in run-ons races. Mile no issue.
- 7 – DIGITALISM – Crossed the line with Longeron last time, behind Kenjorwood, that form looks even more outstanding now…and ties in through The Bowler. Has a case then!
Race 7 – BM90 – 1500m
- 12 – JESSY BELLE – Hit line hard (best late splits of the day) fresh in on-pace (good form) race then came wide and again was the best closer in a race dominated by those inside/on-speed. Reckon she is flying and 1500m, on a track she loves, 3rd-up looks ideal… Looks the overs!
- 6 – MISS ROSE DE LAGO – Did not ping but was strong late and won fresh (best backed runner) beating home Jessy Belle, if anything, 1500m suits her much better! In ok relative weights. Goes forward. Clear winning hope also.
- 1 – CHARMED HARMONY – Beat all-bar good one last time and this surface, this 1500m trip should suit him touch better. Pattern important for him.
- 11 – CORONATION SHALLAN – Must have a case on that Miss Rose De Lago form (fresh run good off wide-ish trip).
- 13 – ORION – Won well 3rd-up and has a case with no weight but needs luck/pattern now?
Race 8 – BM90 – 2500m
- 7 – SECOND BULLET – Covered a stack of ground Caulfield last time, looked gone, then came again! Thought the run was excellent and immediately thought, this guy will get further… First try 2500m here. Good/Even race this.
- 2 – VERDANT – Looks so ready to win! Made up good ground last time (only Kenjorwood was home quicker) despite not being in the best ground and finally he gets to staying trip. Hmmm.
- 9 – KILLARNEY KID – Good Oz debut win beating Kareeming who then beat Second Bullet and Co. Fancy he is better for that first Oz run too. To 2500m. Goes close.
- 5 – KAREEMING – Good on-speed to Second Bullet in run-ons race then chased Kilarney Kid. Nice ride/Strong win last time beating key rivals here. Must have a case too.
- 6 – LADY CUMQUAT (first go trip)
- 3 – BLACK JAG – (forgive latest/ leaders winning?) and 11-GOLDEN MANE – Alll have cases made…
Race 9 – BM78 – 1200m
- 3 – MARSEILLE ROULETTE – Resumes. Led/Won trial 5L (ridden out). Back to homeland. Go back two preps and he is on the heels of Dissident fresh-up. Doubt 78 grade is too strong!
- 7 – SOCIETY MAN – BEat one home fresh but ran well for mine. Beaten a lip by Burbero 2nd-up last prep, that guy went on to run well in a G1. Overs??
- 17 – NULLEI – Was not in the A-groun dilates, forgive, form around Chiquada and Charles In Charge prior reads well for 78 class.
- 8 – GRAND EMPEROR – Good fresh from back/wide and he has 2nd-up form… Has run well in much stronger grade too.
- 5 – ACADEMY JACK – Going well and likes it here (Jar out of track!). Goes in also.
ROSEHILL
Race 1 – 2YO – 1350m
- 2 – SO WILLIE – Missed kick on debut and went well then came wide (winner Coys saved ground) and stretched out nicely. Jump to 1350m looks ideal.
- 4 – SHARDS – Very new on debut but ran well behind Bring A Secret, 2nd there was Coys so that is easy to tie in. Better for that debut! Danger.
- 1 – PRESS STATEMENT – Was big odds on debut but won quite well in a race of some depth on paper, 3rd-horse Reincarnate was then unplaced behind Skyclad who was 3rd behind So Willie last week.
- 5 – PRAECEREUS – Sound debut Echuca, winner was well-backed and is down to run Flemington race 1 today so….
- 8 – DIZZY DIVA – 1st-start. Beaten for speed in trial but warmed up well late, no shock they kick off at 1350m here.
Race 2 – F&M BM76 – 1900m
- 10 – IMPERIAL LASS – Down to run Qld. If here she looks the one to beat, she kept finding the line last time behind smart Ballet Suite and had Hi World form earlier in the prep. Too good with no weight if here??
- 3 – ROYAL ADVENTURE – Went early/Collared late Canterbury last time and liked the gap to 3rd. Drier ground holds no fears.
- 2 – WHITE DOVE – Could be the sharp improver here onto drier ground with blinkers added, she comes back to her best winning distance range too.
- 4 – MISSVONN – Ok fresh on bog track then did make ground Randwick mile 2nd-up. Its not a deep field and 1900m suits 3rd-up. Boasts 2nd to Arabian Gold at 2000m at 3yo.
- 1 – CARRY ON SINGING – Backed at odds and won Bm70 to 2000m 2nd-up, was long way off Royal Adventure prior but, was 1st-up there…. Claim important.
Race 3 – 3YOF BM74 – 1400m
- 4 – LUCY’S LOOK – Faded badly on very wet last time. Missed kick fresh prior. 3rd-up last prep she was unlucky not to beat Sebrina (so stiff last week) with Joadja (ran well behind Algeria recently) 3rd. Onto drier ground here! Improver at odds?
- 2 – ALGERIA – Well backed and strong fresh win beating subsequent winner Campania, 3rd-Joadja ties in. This girl was 1L off smart Wine Tales 2nd-up in first prep. Go well.
- 1 – BERRY DELICIOUS – Bloused by good one (Kaepernick) fresh then found trouble key stage and hit line behind another good one (Tree Of Jesse) last week. To own sex. Her Good Project form ties in easily with Algeria also.
- 8 – FILL ME UP – Huge odds in Denises Joy but ran enormous, she was 2L off G1 horse Winx! That was just start two, and, doubt she was in the A-ground there… Has all the upside!
- 9 – MODESTY – Won the maiden well enough Gosford and also has real scope… Never seen dry so?
Race 4 – Eremien Hcp – 1800m
- 1 – PHEIDON – Led and too good fork in-form Rugged Cross fresh then forget Scone Cup miss when back and wide. He was beaten 2L in G1 Epsom 3rd-up last prep then beat Extra Zero (2nd in G1 Aust Cup).
- 7 – DARCI MAGIC – Covered ground and ran well in that Scone Cup off solid win over Sense Of Occasion (form franked) and Intimate Moment. In well weights Vs Pheidon.
- 2 – ECUADOR – Jumped sharply to 2000m last time and faded. Nutted by Rugged Cross prior ties him in easily and now 3rd-up off that long spell looks ready?
- 5 – INTIMIATE MOMENT – Came wide/Ran well in that Darci Magic race and meets that girl 5kg better here! Didn’t finish off latest at 2000m, to 1800m here.
- 8 – REIGNING – Went well fresh on very wet making good ground. Jumps to 1800m and ideally suited with jar out of track so… Check rating!
Race 5 – Octagonal Hcp – 1400m
- 7 – DIVERTIRE – Missed kick and did some early work WFM yet was only 2L off the flying Silverball, 7-weeks off into Dark Jewel but was too strong. Dry no issue for her but less of an advantage for key rivals.
- 3 – RUGGED CROSS – Luckless 1st-up then won (beat good field – blanket finish) 2nd-up. Could not reel in Pheidon latest but good again. Back to 1400m on improving track are little queries but going super this prep and hard to beat!
- 4 – YOU’LL NEVER – Sat back off fast pace and produced big finish to win here fresh. He won fresh last prep then ran good 1L 4th here 1350m 2nd-up in very similar race too this one.
- 5 – AMOVATIO – Trialled super before good return when weaved through and found line, was 4.6L off You’ll Never there. Has good 2nd-up form and overall record here is super… Weight swing on You’ll Never helps too.
- 1 – RAIN AFFAIR – Set fast pace and held on well last time in swoopers race. Drier ground (?) and the fact he hasn’t won for ages are obvious queries.
Race 6 – 3YO BM79 – 1200m
- 6 – KAEPERNICK – Nice trial then terrific return given he didn’t look all that happy on the Soft-7 track. He beat a good field. He won (maiden) 2nd-up last prep. Smart.
- 3 – BASCULE – Resumes. Throttled in recent trial but went over line beautifully. Won Flemington BM78 fresh last prep then was just no match for seasoned, older (flying!) horse The Bowler.
- 4 – GRUNDERZEIT – Nice return win (runner-up unplaced Wednesday) and he did win BM70 easily 2nd-up last prep before failing at 1400m (leading any help?) in Sat class. Highly promising also.
- 2 – MOHAVE – Had no peace up front in Kaepernick (run-ons race) last time and forgive. Drier ground a plus and gets it softer on-speed here? In very well relative weights after claim too. Go well if here not Qld.
- 1 – GOOD PROJECT – Also a key hope on that Kaepernick form if here.
- 7 – AEROBAR – Resumes. Trialled quite well behind Brazen Beau and beat Bascule in the trial. Won 1st-up last prep.
Race 7 – BM85 – 1500m
- 7 – CAMPANOLOGY – Looked almost ready 2nd-up when 4L off Silverball then raced in inferior round Caulfield, had little hope again on that track last time when wide. Value??
- 6 – HOLLYWOOD BOUND – Finished with Song And Laughter (good last week) two-back then back to midweeks and too good for them with big weight last time. Form here is better than it reads.
- 11 – ALL CERISE – Was 7-weeks between runs into the Dark Jewel and was not in the A-ground. To 1500m and Cassidy up, she is up to these with 54kg but hasn’t won for a while now. Goes in for mine.
- 2 – GREAT ESTEEM – Jumped to 1600m and only beaten 2L in Scone Cup last time. He won WFM 3rd-up last prep, then again 4th-up. Back to BM85 class. Can win.
- 9 – MR ONE ELEVEN – Good return (home hard in best ground) and he flew home Canterbury 2nd-up last prep… Does he want further now, thats the tiny query??
- 8 – ROLE MODEL – Wide (but race 10 me ants he was in best ground) and solid in that Mr One Eleven race. Was 7-weeks off there so fitter. Chance.
Race 8 – BM85 – 1200m
- 3 – AUSSIES LOVE SPORT – Chased Dublin Lass fresh (then G2 placed) before striking bottomless track and forget Hawkesbury. Drier ground, gate 1, and wonder if he is near that form that saw him competitive with Eurozone/ Criterion at 3yo??
- 2 – GOT THE GOSS – Two runs off 71-week break, two terrific wins, in latest he sat wide and ran over subsequent winner Loved Up. Won 7 of 10 now!
- 13 – MAYSOON – Resumes. Untouched/Good recent trial. Was only 3.9L off Target In Sight fresh last prep. That may be good enough! Has form here. Chance.
- 5 – OFF THE RAILS – Resumes. Beat one home in trial but went nicely and produced big finish to win fresh last prep, beating, wait for it… Dublin Lass…. That ties in!!
- 7 – SENSE AND REASON – Good return win but things panned out well. Won 2 of 3 second-up. Won twice here. She has a case.
- 11 – TURBULENT JET – Good fresh himself and another with claims.
Good luck !
